April is National Poetry Month!
Join The McLean Project for the Arts in the Emerson Gallery this Saturday for a poetry reading.
Join MPA Saturday, April 22, from 1-3 p.m. for a poetry reading presenting Lily Press’ first literary publication, Kari Ann Ebert’s “Alphabet of Mo(u)rning.” This free Emerson Gallery event will also feature readings by poets Sandra Beasley and Carol A. Beane. The poetry event coincides with MPA’s ongoing Spring Solo exhibitions: Industry Standards: Works by Chris Combs; Concerns: Sculpture by George Lorio; and With My Face Against the Future: Paintings by Josh Whipkey.
Kari Ann Ebert is the winner of the 2020 Sandy Crimmins National Prize in Poetry and the 2018 Gigantic Sequins Poetry Contest. She is the Poetry and Interview Editor for The Broadkill Review.
NEW Gallery Hours
The MPA Atrium Gallery will be available for viewing during McLean Community Center operating hours. The Emerson Gallery will be open for visitors Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
MPA’s 2023 Spring Solo Exhibitions are funded in part by ArtsFairfax and continue through Saturday, June 10.
