VIP Meet-and-Greet with Civil Rights Icon Carlotta Walls LaNier
Fairfax Library Foundation hosts a V.I.P. meet-and-greet with civil rights icon, Carlotta Walls LeNair, Sunday, February 25, at 12:15 p.m. at Dolley Madison Library in McLean, Virginia. This intimate, ticket-only event, sponsored by Fairfax Library Foundation will precede a free author talk and book signing with LaNier from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.
LaNier was the youngest member of the Little Rock Nine, the group of African-American students whose successful 1957 effort to attend then-segregated Little Rock Central High School was a watershed event in the civil rights movement. Her memoir, A Mighty Long Way: My Journey to Justice at Little Rock Central High School, was published in 2009
Tickets for this V.I.P. event can be purchased online through Eventbrite for $75 each. Ticketholders will enjoy light refreshments and face-to-face interaction with Ms. LaNier, along with special reserved seating at the main speaking event held afterward.
Space is limited to 50 tickets. We hope you’re able to join us!
