Hands-only CPR Training
MVFD is offering Hands-Only CPR training to our community!
Hands-Only CPR is an easy, effective way for bystanders, especially if they act immediately, to double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival. You should call 9-1-1 first, but if you know how to push hard and fast in the center of the chest with minimal interruptions, and operate an AED, you can give the victim a greater chance for survival.
This 30-minute session is NOT a CPR certification course, but is endorsed as a way for more and more bystanders to know how to help until the ambulance arrives.
Our next two sessions are on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 7 pm and at 7:30 pm, at our station, 1455 Laughlin Ave., McLean.
Teenagers are welcome, but minors must be accompanied by a parent.
Each session is limited to 20 people, so sign up now at mcleanvfd.org/cpr/, or by emailing outreach@mcleanvfd.org.
