Raising Lazarus by Beth Macy
Bards Alley Bookshop and 1st Stage Theatre present journalist and bestselling author Beth Macy for a discussion of her new book, Raising Lazarus.
Continuing the investigation that began in Dopesick, Raising Lazarus journeys to the heart of the opioid crisis, engaging with the communities affected by it and the ordinary individuals working toward solutions. Macy will talk about her research along with a representative from The Chris Atwood Foundation, a charitable organization based in northern Virginia that provides support services, resources, and advocacy for people affected by substance use. The discussion will be preceded by a reception with light refreshments at 6:00 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased online through 1st Stage at two price tiers: admission only or admission with a copy of Raising Lazarus that can be signed at the event. Guests are also encouraged to make a donation to The Chris Atwood Foundation.
