The McLean Community Center Governing Board is holding a public hearing on Wednesday, March 22 at 6:30 p.m. to get feedback on programming.

A public hearing on the programming for fiscal year 2025 will be held on Wednesday, March 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the center. The McLean Community Center Governing Board is asking residents to offer input on the classes, events and programs they would like to see provided by the center.

The public hearing is the first step in planning for the fiscal year 2025 budget cycle, which begins July 1, 2024, and ends June 30, 2025. The McLean Community Center’s program areas include the Robert Ames Alden Theatre and The Old Firehouse Center.

Residents of the Dranesville Small District 1-A, who pay a real estate tax surcharge to support the center, will be permitted to speak at the March 22 hearing. They can call the center at 703-744-9348 to have their name placed on the speakers’ list. However, speakers are not required to sign up in advance in order to speak. If speakers’ comments exceed three minutes, they will be asked to provide their feedback in writing. Speakers’ residency in the tax district will be verified before their comments are recorded.

Residents also can submit a comment in writing without attending the meeting by emailing feedback@mcleancenter.org, or by delivering their comments in person at MCC, before the March 22 meeting and up to seven days afterward. Comments also can be submitted via an online survey, which will be made available to residents who cannot attend the hearing.
