But her estranged family, her mysterious dreams, and an alluring Crypto-Jew keep pointing her inward to a surprising truth. American Legion Post 270 Veteran’s Day Event

American Legion McLean Post 270 will conduct its Annual Veteran’s Day Event at 11 a.m. Thursday (11/11) at the McLean High School Memorial Garden, 1633 Davidson Rd.

The event will honor all U.S. Armed Forces Veterans and will be held in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary Vietnam War Commemoration, a national initiative to thank Vietnam Era veterans for their service.

McLean Volunteer Fire Department Coloring Contest

The McLean Volunteer Fire Department invites elementary school students across our area to participate in a coloring contest during Fire Prevention Month in October.

Students can download an image of the fire station, color it any way their imagination leads and mail it back.

At the end of the month, we will hold a drawing – with the winner receiving a visit to his or her street by our antique Pirsch fire truck!

OFC’s Family Trunk or Treat (House of Terror Canceled)

The Old Firehouse’s Trunk or Treat will have music, fun and themed vehicles with Halloween candy to share while supplies last on Saturday (Oct. 30).

The McLean 5K

The McLean 5K Run is back this fall! Hosted by the McLean Community Center with the support of sponsors Century 21 New Millennium and the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce, the race features a USATF certified course through the heart of McLean and is designed to appeal to runners of all abilities. The proceeds of the run benefit the McLean Community Foundation.  For more information and to register, go to mclean5k.com.
